Handmade in Berlin.

Unique piece from the collection “Urban Aesthetics”. 60 patterns were cut from old jeans, frayed, washed and reassembled for this blazer. The color changes give the blazer a unique stonewash effect. The new upcycling creations of designer Johann Ehrhardt are a tribute to the travelers whom, about 300 years ago, collected worn out clothing and scraps of fabric, so-called “rags”, from the population and sold them to paper mills.

From the Middle Ages up until the 18th century, these “rags” of linen, hemp or cotton – together with spinning and other textile waste – formed the only available fiber raw material for the production of paper. Today we use these textile scraps to create new, unique clothing.
